With strong and haunting imagery, one of the region’s most successful poets reads from her tenth collection Song of the Butcher Bird, the first by a woman on the theme of war and its effects. Prolific poet, historian, literary biographer, editor and widely anthologised, she has received many prizes and awards, led courses at Arvon and lectures at both universities in Liverpool. Followed by a poetry workshop for adults. Tea and coffee available.
