The residents of Waverton foster new writing talent by giving an annual award to the best British début novel. After a lot of reading and much discussion, the choice this year resulted in a win for The Killing Jar by Nicola Monaghan. Hailed as one of the hottest books of the year, the young author’s debut has been described as ‘exuberant’ and ‘a powerful, honest and loving new voice’. Nicola is guest speaker at the presentation dinner.
